The vineyard in depth

The vineyard is located in the San Cristoforo subzone of Neive and faces southeast. Over the years we have understood that this soil is particularly suited to the Nebbiolo grape and now it is the only variety we grow here.

We use it to make our classic Barbaresco, and forgo mentioning the names of the subzone and vineyard.

The older part of the vineyard contains mature vines, pre-existing on the estate. The new part was planted in 2001 with clones selected by the C.N.R. (National Research Council) the University of Turin.

In the portion less suited to growing vines, either north-facing or in the valley bottom, we have planted about 3.5 hectares of DOP-denominated Langhe Tonda Gentile hazelnuts.
